Hey, welcome back to the Catholic Sprouts podcast where we are reading the Gospels this school year.

We are on day 134 of this journey in the Gospel of Luke, today reading chapter 16 verses 1 through 18 where Jesus will share the parable of the dishonest steward now I'm reading from the new

American translation of the Bible as always but before we dive in let's pray in the name of the

father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit, amen.

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.

Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created and you will renew the face of the earth. Amen.

In the name of the Father and of the Son,

and of the Holy Spirit, amen. A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke,

chapter 16, verses 1 through 18. Then he also said to his disciples, a rich man had a steward who was reported to him for squandering his property. He summoned him and said,

What is this I hear about you? Prepare a full account of your stewardship because you can no longer be my steward. The steward said to himself,

What shall I do?

Now that my master is taking the position of steward away from me,

I am not strong enough to dig and I am ashamed to beg.

I know what I shall do,

that when I am removed from the stewardship,

they may welcome me into their homes.

He called in his master's debtors one by one.

To the first he said, how much do you owe my master?

He replied, 100 measures of oil.
