Hey Sprouts, welcome back to the Catholic Sprouts podcast where we are reading through the Gospels this school year.

We are on day 105 of this journey, and this is the final day of our introduction to the gospel of Luke where we

will be exploring the themes that we will see again and again in this beautiful gospel but before we

go into that please join me in prayer in the name of the father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen.

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.

Send forth your spirit and they shall be created. And you will renew the face of the earth. Amen. In the name of the Father and of the Son

and of the Holy Spirit, amen. Okay, so the Gospel of Luke, what themes should we be looking for?

Well, there's a lot of sort of secondary themes, but the big one is that all people are saved through Jesus Christ's death and resurrection.

So it's this universal message of salvation, that Jesus has come to gather all people into his family.

And I want you to just reflect on how amazing that is, how incredible.

You know, if you're going to save someone, you know, if you're going to jump in front of a

bus and push someone to safety, you know, if you're going to jump in front of a bus and push someone to safety,

you're doing, that's a good thing to do, but you're not necessarily going to take that person

home then and make them your sister. It's, it's, you know, that that's a different level.

To just save someone from physical harm, yes, that's awesome, that's good.

But to take that person in and say, I will love you forever.

I will serve you.

I want to be close to you forever as my family member.

That's dramatically different.
