You're listening to Catholic Sprouts, the daily podcast for Catholic kids that strives to plant seeds of faith.

0:39.1

Hey there, sprouts. Today is Friday, October 8th, 2021. Well, it's been quite a week as we prove that Catholicism is the true version of Christianity. We have looked at the fact that Christ left us a church, not just a Bible, a church. We examine the four words, one holy, Catholic and apostolic, to know that

0:46.9

the Catholic church is the only church that meets this ancient criteria set up by the early

0:52.1

Christians. And today we are going to look at what is probably

0:56.7

the most important point of all, that the Catholic Church, the church founded by Christ,

1:04.5

still has Christ truly and fully present today.

1:17.2

And that presence, of course, is Christ present in the Eucharist.

1:24.1

Now, what many Christians that have broken away from the Catholic Church have forgotten is that from the earliest times, from the earliest times, in fact, the first

1:29.8

written word that we have about Jesus' life comes from St. Paul. St. Paul was an early convert,

1:38.2

but he became a zealous convert. He preached, he converted, he baptized, he went to jail for it. He ultimately lost his life as a

1:47.8

Christian. But we know that he lived as a Catholic priest. In fact, in one of his letters, he records

1:56.8

the words of consecration. The words that our priests still say during the consecration prayers

2:04.6

when God working through the priest transforms ordinary bread and wine into Jesus' body and

2:12.7

blood. And so, St. Paul, living shortly after Christ descended into heaven, was saying mass.

2:21.4

And people, those early Christians, believed that Christ was truly present.

2:28.9

And this belief endured.

2:31.5

Remember, we have only been on this earth 2,000 years after Christ descended into

2:37.8

heaven, and 1,500 of that, there was one church, and everybody believed in the Eucharist.

2:47.8

Everybody went to Mass to receive Holy Communion. It was only 500 years ago when people,

2:55.6

just people, not God himself, took issue with the Catholic faith, broke away. And the one thing

3:03.0

they left behind, well, they left many things behind, but probably the saddest thing that they left

3:08.2

behind was the Eucharist. If you go to a Protestant church on Sunday, they sometimes have a
