| 0:00.0 | You're listening to Catholic Sprouts, the daily podcast for Catholic kids that strives to plant seeds of faith. |
| 0:29.9 | Hey there, Sprouts. Today is Thursday, September 30th, 2021. Today is also the feast day of St. Jerome. |
| 0:39.3 | Now, St. Jerome was an interesting character. He lived in the 400th shortly after. It was finally safe to be Christian in the Roman Empire. He was very intelligent. And finally, his greatest contribution to our faith was that he |
| 0:47.7 | translated the Bible into Latin, which was the universal language at the time. He did a meticulous and very thorough job, |
| 0:56.4 | and we really have him to thank for the fact that the Bible is so accessible today. |
| 1:02.9 | Now, Sprouts, all week we have been talking about which religion is a true religion. |
| 1:09.6 | We've talked about the fact that Christianity rests on the fact, |
| 1:14.0 | the belief, the knowledge that Jesus is Lord. We've already dismissed the possibility that |
| 1:21.0 | Jesus is just a made-up legend. And now we are working on dismissing the idea that he is |
| 1:26.9 | either a liar or a lunatic. |
| 1:30.3 | Now, we started this work by looking at all of the examples from Scripture where Jesus claims that he is God. |
| 1:37.5 | And he really does boldly claim to be God. |
| 1:40.4 | So the options with this is either that he's not telling the truth, that he's crazy, or that he is the Lord. |
| 1:48.2 | And to really prove one way or the other, it all rests on the resurrection. |
| 1:55.5 | Did the resurrection actually happen? |
| 2:00.3 | Now, I know that, you know, we believe Jesus has risen. Jesus lives |
| 2:04.3 | in our hearts, that we can experience him. But what we're talking about right now is a historical |
| 2:09.9 | event. Did Jesus die on the cross? And then three days later, on a real day, in a real place, did he actually |
| 2:22.0 | rise from the dead? |
| 2:25.0 | Is there evidence for this? |
| 2:27.4 | So, Sprout, that's what we are going to be talking about. |
| 2:29.8 | And just so you don't get too worried, there is indeed terrific evidence for the fact that the resurrection happened, really happened. |
