| 0:00.0 | You're listening to Catholic Sprouse, the daily podcast for Catholic kids that strives to plant seeds of faith. |
| 0:30.5 | Hey there, Sprouse. Today is Friday, June 25th, 2021. Now, all week we have had Mrs. Kimberly Hahn on the podcast sharing her wisdom about how we take the ordinary building that we live in, whether it's an apartment, a house, a condo, a camper, whatever it might be. |
| 0:42.7 | But how we can work to make that a place of holiness, a true home where a family lives and where saints are made. |
| 0:50.1 | Now, all week we have talked about lots of different things from eating to working to praying. |
| 0:55.2 | And today, we are going to talk about relaxing and having fun together. |
| 1:01.2 | So our question for Mrs. Hahn is, why does time spent together as a family, resting, relaxing, and even playing with each other matter. |
| 1:13.4 | Why is that so important? |
| 1:16.2 | Because we're people, we're human beings, we're not just souls walking around. |
| 1:22.2 | And sometimes when people are really excited about their faith, they can make everything about their interaction |
| 1:31.2 | be spiritual and they can miss some of the really important time they need to have enjoying |
| 1:37.4 | each other, reveling in each other. I think we need a new phrase, not sibling rivalry, |
| 1:43.5 | sibling revelry. When we enjoy each other, |
| 1:48.2 | you know, where we're playing with the baby, where we're wrestling with the kids on the floor. |
| 1:53.7 | At one point, my dad had said to my mom, my dad was a pastor, and he said to my mom, you know, |
| 1:58.1 | I think we should gather the children and pray together. And my mom said, when was the last time you played kickball with that? And he couldn't remember. |
| 2:05.1 | And she said, play first, then pray. Such wisdom, such wisdom. Because of course, we wanted to be |
| 2:12.3 | with him. And we were happy to be with him to pray. But once he had played with us, it was a lot easier to then |
| 2:18.9 | come in and sit down and do a brief prayer time together where we were tired and sweaty and |
| 2:24.0 | hot just and then had a little glass of water and then we sit and pray because we knew he was |
| 2:30.5 | enjoying us. Parents, think about the things you enjoy. |
| 2:34.5 | Do you like music and sing with your kids? |
| 2:37.2 | Play musical instruments with your kids. |
