Jesus' cousin.

This is his birthday when he was born. Now, all week we have Kimberly Han, Mrs. Kimberly Hahn on the podcast sharing with us wisdom and how we transform the ordinary

house that we live in into a home, a place of holiness, a place where saints are made.

Yesterday we talked about eating together, and today we're going to ask her a question about praying together. So why does praying together as a family

matter? Why can't we just pray together at church on Sunday? Why is it important that we actually pray in our homes?

It's so funny.

You know, I grew up in an evangelical home,

and I was taught to talk to Jesus like I would talk to anybody.

And when I first began to meet Catholics,

and they would say, well, let's pray together.

They would immediately go

into rote prayers. Their idea of prayer was simply a Hail Mary or a Lori B or an Our Father,

and they were uncomfortable talking out loud to Jesus in the presence of someone else.

And I guess, you know, for some people, their faith can be so private, they hardly know it exists.

I think it's very important to gather together with our children and do a combination of prayer.

The rote prayers are beautiful, and I would never say step away from those or don't do them.

But we do in our children to understand that our Heavenly Father gave us his son out of total

sacrificial love. And he wants us to know him and to love him and to talk to him, to approach
