Hey there, Spouts. Today is Tuesday, June 15th, 2021. Now, this week, I have challenged myself to help you realize how important going to Eucharistic adoration can be for you, for you specifically. And I want to challenge you to make some time to do that this summer. Now, yesterday we heard the origins of Eucharistic

0:47.3

adoration, how it grew out of the Middle Ages, a time when people weren't allowed to receive Jesus and

0:52.6

Holy Communion very often, but yet they wanted

0:55.5

to be with him and see him more. So the priest began to place the consecrated host out on the altar

1:03.5

at times outside of Mass so people could be with him. Now today, we are going to turn to one of my favorite saints, one of the most popular

1:13.0

This saint is St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta.

She served the poor specifically in India, but she founded an order that has branched out

1:52.9

all over the entire world that is doing amazing things for the poor on every continent today.

2:03.9

Now, and the world will look at her and just say, wow, what an example of serving the poor. But we know as Catholics, and we know from Mother

2:10.1

Teresa's writing that the only reason she did any of these things, and the place where she got

2:16.3

the strength to do them was the Eucharist.

2:21.6

To understand Mother Teresa, you need to understand that everything she did started with Jesus

2:30.4

in the Eucharist. Mother Teresa set a very clear schedule for herself, and each woman that

2:38.0

joined her order followed it as well. Their day started with Jesus. They spent a whole hour

2:45.3

in Eucharistic adoration, silent prayer before the exposed consecrated host. It was there that they got everything

2:55.3

they needed to do the work that they were called to do. After Eucharistic adoration, they celebrated
