| 0:00.0 | You're listening to Catholic Sprouts, the daily podcast for Catholic kids that strives to plant seeds of faith. |
| 0:39.0 | Hey there, sprouts. Today is Spr, May 7th, 2021. All week, we have been talking about those objects that we see in our church every week, but we might not really understand why they are there or even what they're called. |
| 0:46.0 | So this week we spend time talking about the tabernacle, chalice, Patton, Suburium, |
| 0:53.2 | picks, finger bowl, cruits, the altar cloth, and the corporal. |
| 0:56.0 | So that's a lot of words. |
| 0:58.7 | That's probably enough new words for you this week. |
| 1:03.5 | So we're going to end this week by just pondering this question. |
| 1:10.3 | Why are our churches, like the building and even the windows, and then all of the objects in our churches, |
| 1:14.0 | like the chalice and the patent and the tavernacle and the altar. Why are they so beautiful, |
| 1:22.8 | so fancy, so different than the ordinary objects that we use every day. Chances are, if you're |
| 1:32.1 | sitting and eating breakfast right now, that the cup you're drinking out of, is very different |
| 1:39.1 | than the chalice that you see the priest use at mass. Also, the walls of your home are probably very different than the walls and windows of your church. |
| 1:52.6 | Now, why is that? |
| 1:55.3 | There's lots of reasons. |
| 1:57.2 | But what I want you to think about today is this. |
| 2:07.3 | God is good. God is good. All good things come from God. |
| 2:21.1 | We know that He is love, that He is life, and that He also is the author of beauty. Everything he does is beautiful. Even if you have ever, you know, |
| 2:28.0 | looked at the wings of a butterfly or looked at a cell under a microscope, you can see that everything that God has created is interesting and beautiful and so wonderfully made. |
| 2:36.1 | So when we go to worship God, of course, we can never create anything like he created. |
| 2:42.4 | We are so far beneath him. |
| 2:45.3 | But we want to create something that draws our mind to God, that allows us to sit there and bask in the beauty, |
| 2:54.9 | because we are there to worship the author of all that is beautiful. |
