Today is Wednesday, January 27th, 2021.

This week on the Catholic Sprouts podcast, we have been talking about how Jesus is the Messiah,

but how the Jews at the time had a misunderstanding about what that would mean and how after his disciples realized and proclaimed that he is the Messiah, he had some work to do to help

them understand correctly what the Messiah had come to do. We learned that Jesus told them very quickly the Messiah had come to do. We learned that Jesus told them very quickly,

the Messiah had come not to fight the Romans,

but to fight Satan,

and that he would have to go to Jerusalem to suffer and die to win this victory.

So shortly after he had this conversation with his followers,

Jesus took his closest three followers,

Peter, James, and John,

and they went to the top of a mountain.

They went up there to pray.

Now, Jesus was slowly teaching his followers how to pray,

and he oftentimes would withdraw to a deserted place to be alone with God.

So his close followers followed him up on this mountain, and they were praying there.

It seemed to have been night, and his close followers fell asleep.

Suddenly, they were awoken, and they saw followers fell asleep. Suddenly they were awoken,

and they saw before them Jesus,

but he had been transformed.
