Hey there, Sprouts. I'm Michael O'Rourke, father of Tendon, founder of strong Catholic dad. This week we are talking about four saints who are better than the supers from Incredibles because their powers are real. Today is Wednesday, October the 7th, 2020.

0:47.6

It's also the feast day of Our Lady of the Rosary. Our lady said at Fatima 1917 to three shepherd children, by means of the holy rosary and the scapular, I will save the world. So the rosary is so powerful.

0:56.9

She went on to say in that apparition, pray the rosary every day to end war.

1:02.7

So just you sitting at home with your family praying the rosary can impact peace in the whole

1:08.8

world. Amazing. Today we are talking about another saint with

1:13.1

superpowers, Saint Padre Pio. He was born in Italy in 1887 and he died in 1968. I was two

1:20.9

years old in 1968, so he was alive during my lifetime. I'm going to tell you two stories about him.

1:30.0

First of all, during World War II,

1:35.5

there was a German bomber who was sent to Italy and he was supposed to drop bombs and he was dropping a bomb in the area near San Giovanni Rotondo where Padre Pio's monastery was. And as he was flying along,

1:43.3

about to deliver his bomb, all of a sudden he saw

1:46.1

in the sky floating outside the window a priest. And the priest looked at him and waved his finger

1:53.7

at him and like, no, don't do it. And the German bomber in his plane was thinking, oh my gosh,

1:58.9

like I am I even, am I seen things? Am I going crazy? I

2:02.0

better go back to base. So he didn't drop his bomb. He went back to base and he he scuttled the

2:07.3

mission, which means he just decided not to do the mission. And so that German soldier survived

2:13.7

the war. And years later, he had gone to Italy, and he actually went to San Giovanni

2:19.8

Rotundo, where Padre Pio was, and he went to confession. And you had to wait in long lines to be able to

2:25.0

have Padre Pio here in confession. And when he finally got into confession with Padre Pio, he looked up and he said,

2:30.9

it's you. You were the one. You were the priest who was floating in the air outside my plane. And Padre Pio said, yes, yes. Now let me hear your confession. So Padre Pio was like getting right down to business. So he had the superpower of being able to really fly. Second story, my wife's uncle, Uncle Joe, when he was young, he went to Italy to visit

2:54.5

and he went with another friend of his and his friend and he were both discerning a vocation

2:58.8

to see, okay, are we going to be in the priesthood or not? And so when they went to San Giovanni
