Hey there, Sprouts. Today is Tuesday, July 28th, 2020.

This week on the Catholic Sprouts podcast, we have been talking about the Seventh Commandment, Thou shalt not kill.

Yesterday we talked about what it means to steal as well as all of the little

excuses that we might tell ourselves to explain away our behavior and allow us to steal anyway.

Now today we're going to talk about two big reasons that tempt us to steal.

Now, the first reason oftentimes why we are tempted to steal is not necessarily because we really,

really want something or even because we really, really need it.

Oftentimes, people steal because it feels a little bit thrilling

to take something and to get away with it.

There's a thrill in being sneaky

and putting something in your pocket and no one else noticing.

This can happen when we sneak into our siblings room and grab their candy and put it in our

pocket and they don't notice or can happen in a store.

Both of these situations are sins.

They are serious incidents where we are being dishonest and taking something that's not ours.

And yet that desire to be sneaky and hidden can remain. Now, the only real way to fight this desire

is to realize something. Even if no one around you sees what you're doing,

and even if no one ever even finds out about it,

it doesn't mean that no one knows.

There is someone who is always with you,

who is always watching you,
