| 0:00.0 | You're listening to Catholic Sprouts, the daily podcast for Catholic kids that strives to plant seeds of faith. |
| 0:29.8 | Hey there, Sprouts. Today is Monday, July 27th, 2020. This week on the Catholic Spouts podcast, we are diving into the Seventh Commandment, and the Seventh Commandment is Thou |
| 0:37.2 | shall not steal. Now chances are you know what stealing is. |
| 0:45.5 | But we are going to talk about what this actually means and all the small ways that we give |
| 0:53.6 | into stealing and commit a sin against this commandment. |
| 0:59.7 | So stealing, of course, is when we take something that doesn't belong to us. |
| 1:05.4 | When we take it from someone else, it belongs to someone else. |
| 1:14.0 | Now, this is a good opportunity to stop and talk about what has to happen for it to be a sin. So in order to commit a sin, especially in the case of |

| 1:52.0 | to take it. Well, in this situation, in order for stealing to be a sin, it is not yours and you know |
| 1:58.6 | that you should not take it. And then finally, in order for it to be a sin, it's not yours and you know that you should not take it. |
| 2:07.7 | And then finally, in order for it to be a sin, it's not yours, you know it's not yours and you do it anyway. |
| 2:11.1 | That is what qualifies it as a sin. |
| 2:16.4 | Oftentimes we can rationalize away stealing. |
| 2:22.4 | By rationalizing a way, it means that we come up with all sorts of excuses as to why in this situation or with this object or this person is actually okay. |
| 2:32.0 | Now, as you listen to these examples, I want you to really search into your heart |
| 2:36.9 | if you can relate to this or if you have ever given into stealing by telling yourself one of these |
| 2:45.0 | excuses. So sometimes we tell ourselves that it doesn't really matter. |
| 2:51.9 | For example, if your sibling has a jar of candy in their room and you go in and sneak one, |
