| 0:00.0 | You're listening to Catholic Sprouts, the daily podcast for Catholic kids that strives to plant seeds of faith. |
| 0:30.0 | Hey there, Sprouts. Today is Wednesday, July 29th, 2020. This week on the Catholic Spouts podcast, we have been talking about the Seventh Commandment, Thou shall not steal. We've already talked about what it means to steal, the excuses we sometimes |
| 0:41.5 | make to justify stealing, and also why we're tempted to steal. Now today we're going to talk about |
| 0:48.1 | something much bigger and much more important than the little tiny things that we can steal. |
| 0:55.9 | We're going to talk about when an entire group of people are robbed of things that all |
| 1:03.6 | people are entitled to. |
| 1:06.8 | As human beings created in the image and likeness of God, we, just by being a human being, |
| 1:15.3 | are entitled to certain things, certain things that all humage, no matter where they live, |
| 1:22.1 | what they look like, well, the language they speak, that all humans should enjoy. |
| 1:31.6 | And yet in this world and throughout history, |
| 1:40.9 | there are many, many examples of groups of people that are repressed or denied these rights, |
| 1:45.8 | maybe from their government, from a different group of people in power, |
| 1:52.9 | but there are countless situations where an entire nation of people have been robbed of these rights or where a smaller group of people have been selected for special punishment |
| 2:00.3 | and robbed of these rights. So both today and tomorrow, |
| 2:04.9 | we are going to talk about what each human being is entitled to enjoy and what it means |
| 2:12.4 | when those things are taken from them. So the first thing that each human being is entitled to is life. |
| 2:21.2 | Each human being is entitled to life. |
| 2:26.6 | Now, a couple weeks ago when we talked about the commandment, |
| 2:29.9 | thou shalt not kill, |
| 2:31.7 | we talked about lots of situations, |
| 2:37.9 | sinful situations, where one person kills another person, or where life is ended. Each of these are a sin because it is a basic |
| 2:47.0 | human right to have life. No one should ever be able to take your life from you. |
