Hey there, Sprouts. Today is Monday, June 15th, 2020. This week on the Catholic Sprouts podcast, we are going to continue to look at the Ten Commandments. Last week, we looked at the

0:34.3

first one, and this week we're moving on to the second one.

0:38.2

Now, before we do this, remember that the first three commandments have to do with our worship

0:44.4

and relationship with God.

0:46.3

So the second commandment is, you shall not take the name of your Lord God in vain. You probably heard this before, and at least when I was a kid,

0:59.6

I thought this meant simply don't swear. And of course, that is what it means, but it means so

1:08.1

2:04.5

up there, and he was really captivated and wondered what it was. So, of course, he climbed up there,

2:11.4

and he saw the burning bush. Remarkably, though, the bush was blazing with flames, but it wasn't burnt up. And then a voice

2:21.0

spoke to him and told him to remove his sandals because he was standing on holy ground. We know,

2:28.4

of course, that it was God himself speaking to Moses. And one of the things that Moses asked God in that very first conversation,

2:38.0

when he knew he would have to go back to Egypt and convince the Israelites that God had indeed spoken to him,

2:45.0

he said, well, what is your name?

2:48.0

When they ask me, who has sent me, who has spoken to me, what should I tell
