Today is Friday, May 29th, 2020.

This week on the Catholic Sprouts podcast, we have been talking about our lady of Cabahoe,

and the time in the 1980s when Mary appeared to three visionary girls at a school in Cabejo, Rwanda.

We've already talked about the history of Rwanda, how it had been a Belgian colony, and how Europeans had come and divided the people of Rwanda into two tribes based on the way they looked. There was the Hutus and the Tutsis,

and they divided them not really based on true tribes, but more so on how the people looked. They gave the Tutsis good jobs and power and land, and the Hutus they treated as servants or even slaves.

Now this led to all sorts of hurt feelings, anger, and violence. Next, we talked about the three visionary girls at the

school in Cabejo, how Mary appeared to them and gave them the message that the world needed

to repent and to have a conversion of heart. She also called

everyone to pray the seven sorrows chaplet and to pray for the whole church. Yesterday we talked

about Sagatasha, a poor pagan boy, whom Jesus himself appeared to and patiently taught the faith. And then how Saga Tasha was sent to

Cabejo, where Jesus appeared to him in front of the large crowds that gathered there.

Now today, we are going to talk about what happened after the visions ended. So all three girls at the school would see Mary,

but eventually Mary began to tell one girl after another

that they would no longer be seeing her.

Elphanzine, the first girl to see Mary,

continued to see her for years,

but this all ended around 1989.

In the 1990s, however, the tension between the Hutus and the Tutsis became really, really bad.

If you remember, the Belgians had come and they had divided the people of Rwanda up into two groups

because that's just how their minds work. You have to remember that the people that did this are also the type of people that will go to Africa and find slaves.
