You're listening to Catholic Sprouts, the daily podcast for Catholic kids that strives to plant seeds of faith.

0:29.1

Hey there, Sprouts. Today is Thursday, May 28th, 2020. This week on the Catholic Sprouts podcast, we have been talking about our lady of Cabahoe and the time in the 1980s when Mary

0:35.3

appeared to three schoolgirls in Rwanda. We've already talked about

0:39.8

the history and the tension between tribal people in Rwanda. We've heard about the three

0:46.8

visionaries in this girls' school in Cabejo and how these visionaries began to have their

0:53.9

apparitions on stage in front of thousands of people

0:57.5

and their responses to Mary broadcast over the radio to the whole country of Rwanda.

1:04.6

Amazingly, the three visionaries that we've already talked about were actually not the superstar of the Lady of Cabejo apparitions.

1:38.5

there lived a young boy named Sagatasha. Now, Sagatasha was super poor. His family was more poor than you can

1:48.8

imagine. They didn't own any money. In fact, they hoped only not to starve each year by planting a

1:56.4

couple of bean seeds, hoping that the plants grew and that they would be able to have enough food

2:02.9

to eat. Oftentimes they were on the brink of starvation. The little cluster of huts where they

2:08.8

lived, there was no path, no road leading up to it at all. If you wanted to leave that area,

2:15.9

you'd have to hike through the woods over rivers.

2:19.5

This was very remote.

2:22.1

Now, it was also so remote that Sagatasha had never heard about Jesus Christ.

2:27.8

His parents were vaguely pagan, meaning they didn't really care that much about religion, but they kind of knew about old

2:37.4

African gods that had been worshipped, but they didn't really care that much about it. Instead,

2:43.3

they spent most of their time working very hard, trying not to starve. So it was outside of this
