Hey there, Sprouts. Today is Wednesday, May 27th, 2020. This week on the Catholic Sprouts podcast, we are talking about our lady of Cabejo and the time when she appeared to three

visionaries at a girls' school in Rwanda.

Now, we've already talked about Rwanda's history and how Belgian colonization

separated the people that lived in Rwanda into two groups, the Tutsis and the Hutus,

and how they created a lot of hatred between these two groups.

Next, we talked about the first visionary, Elphonseen, and how Mary appeared to her as she was doing

dishes in the cafeteria. She appeared to her in front of a large crowd, and many people didn't

believe her. They thought she was faking it or trying to get attention.

Many girls at the school teased her.

So Elphine begged Mary to appear to other girls as well.

First, Mary appeared to one more than two more girls.

And in fact, the last girl she appeared to was the girl that had most viciously

teased and harassed Elphonseem. So with all three girls receiving regular visions from Mary,

the whole school and the staff believed. They began to celebrate these visions. Mary was very considerate.

Every time she would appear to the girl, she would tell them exactly when she would be

appearing again. So it got to the point where the school built a stage or podium out in the

outside of their school. They would tell people, both people in the school, in the community

of Cabejo, but also in the larger community of Rwanda, they would tell them when the next

vision would be. And it got to be quite an event. In the end, over 10,000 people would gather to

see these girls have Marian apparitions.
