It is also the feast day of St. Rita.

This week on the Catholic Spouts podcast, we have been talking about our Lady of Lords and St.

Bernadette.

We talked about how Bernadette came from a super poor family, how she was sick, and basically couldn't read her right at the time that Mary

appeared to her. We've talked about the first apparition, how she saw Mary in a small

hole in the cave, how Mary was beautifully dressed in white with a blue sash, and how they

prayed the rosary together. Then we heard about the next apparitions and how Mary asked

Bernadette to return for 15 days in a row. During those days when Bernadette returned,

they prayed the rosary together. Mary sometimes gave her private messages. She also instructed Bernadette returned, they prayed the rosary together. Mary sometimes gave her private messages.

She also instructed Bernadette to dig in the ground and drink the water that bubbled up there.

After a couple of days, it was noticed that this was a real spring of water that bubbled up here.

She also asked Bernadette to have people build her a chapel and finally revealed who

she was when she told Bernadette, I am the Immaculate Conception.

Now, after these apparitions ended, Bernadette no longer had heavenly visits from Mary.

In fact, Bernadette sort of became forgotten in a lot of ways.

Eventually, she was sent to live with an order of sisters because she was so poor and so weak

and she needed people to take care of her. Eventually, she was allowed to join this order and

become a nun herself. Throughout the remaining years of Bernadette's life, she was allowed to join this order and become a nun herself.

Throughout the remaining years of Bernadette's life, and there weren't many because she was very ill and died when she was just 34 years old.
