You're listening to Catholic Sprouts, the daily podcast for Catholic kids that strives to plant seeds of faith.

Hey there, Sprout. Today is Tuesday, January 28th, 2020. It is also the feast day of St. Thomas Aquinas. This week on the Catholic Spouts podcast, we are talking about the sacrament of confirmation. We've already talked about how confirmation is a personal Pentecost. It is a time when we stand up as adults and confess those things

0:47.4

that were said for us at our baptism. Confirmation is a public yes to God, yes to His Holy Spirit, and yes to the church.

Now today, we are going to talk about the four things that we can see happening at the

It is a person that you can ask questions, a person that you can share your struggles with,

2:14.4

and when you are confirmed, the sponsor will stand behind you and support you in this public declaration of your faith.

2:17.2

The other thing that you are often asked to do before you are confirmed is to find a patron saint.

2:24.7

Now, maybe you already have a special saint that you think of often that you have asked for

2:32.6

their intercession.

2:34.1

That saint could very well be the

2:35.9

saint that you choose for your confirmation saint. And not only that, but oftentimes people that

2:42.3

are confirmed take on the name of that confirmation saint. They add it as a middle name.

2:50.2

And when you stand before the bishop to be confirmed,
