This week on the Catholic Sprouts podcast, we are going to continue to journey through the seven incredible sacraments that we enjoy as Catholics.

We have already talked about baptism.

Next reconciliation. Last week we talked about Holy Eucharist and this week we are going to be

talking about the sacrament of confirmation. Now the reason we're talking about the sacraments

in this order is because this is the most common order to receive the sacraments in this order is because this is the most common order to

receive the sacraments in. In fact, it is common, although not universally true, but common

that people are confirmed in their faith, meaning they receive the sacrament of confirmation

sometime in either middle school or high school.

Now, the sacrament of confirmation is maybe one of the most confusing sacraments.

All of the other sacraments, we can see a really clear image that represents it, or we can also see a really clear change that happens

in someone's life. In the next two sacraments that we're going to be talking about in the

following weeks, holy orders and holy matrimony, we see a huge change. People go from being

single to married or from being just a person to being a

priest. It's a huge change. Well, the saccharine of confirmation also has a huge change that occurs in a person,

but is not quite as visible in the way that we might be called to live.

Now, we are going to dig into everything that happens at confirmation and what we promise when

we are confirmed. But for today, we are going to just go back to the very roots of confirmation.

Now, confirmation, like all of the other sacraments of the church, was instituted by Jesus Christ himself. It might be confusing because you

won't find anywhere in scripture where Jesus talks about when you're in high school,
