Today is Monday, December 16th, 2019.

We are also in the third week of Advent.

This week on the Catholic Spouts podcast, we are continuing to journey through salvation history, meaning all the things God did leading up to Jesus. And we were doing this by looking particularly at the prophets. Last week,

we looked at just one prophet. We looked at the prophet Elijah. This week, we're going to look at

several prophets. Among those prophets, we will be looking at the prophet Elijah. This week we're going to look at several prophets. Among those prophets,

we will be looking at the prophet Isaiah, the prophet Jeremiah, Jonah, and Daniel. Now, these

aren't even all of the prophets included in the Old Testament. There are many, many more.

We're looking at this group of prophets together this week

because they had a singular message.

And the message was, you have sinned and God will punish you.

However, there is hope still.

If you turn to God with love and repentance, he will forgive you.

Unfortunately, the people of the Old Testament, the Jewish people, did not turn to God,

and God had to hand out a pretty serious punishment.

So today, let's start with looking at the prophet Isaiah.

Now, just to keep everything in context, here's what happened.

We heard about the prophet Elijah and how he challenged the king and the evil queen

and destroyed all the priests of the false god

bail well after elijah was quite old god told him to appoint a predecessor a someone that would

succeed him as a prophet to Israel.
