Hey there, Sprout.

0:27.3

Today is Monday, November 11th, 2019.

0:33.6

This week on the Catholic Sprouds podcast, we are once again talking about the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

0:39.5

We have already climbed a lot of rungs on the ladder, and this week we are on the fifth one. Fifth thought is seven. We have done the first one, fear of the Lord, next piety,

0:46.3

then knowledge, then fortitude, and this week we're talking about counsel. Now, counsel can be a little bit of a tricky gift to understand.

0:57.7

And to do that, I want you to think about someone that might work in your school. That person,

2:02.7

and in the silence of our heart, if we give it enough time, sometimes we will receive a direct

2:07.5

answer from God. That is the gift of counsel from the Holy Spirit. He's taking time to tell us

2:14.1

exactly what to do. The next way that the gift of counsel can come to us is through other people.

2:21.9

The people in our lives were placed there specifically by God,

2:26.0

and oftentimes there is someone in our life that we really see as wise and thoughtful and loving.

2:37.5

And if we go to them with one of these specific questions like, should I keep being friends with this person, they will quietly listen to us, they will
