| 0:00.0 | You're listening to Catholic Sprouts, the daily podcast for Catholic kids that strives to plant seeds of faith. |
| 0:24.1 | Hey there, Sprouds. |
| 0:27.8 | Today is Friday, October 25th, 2019. |
| 0:33.6 | This week on the Catholic Sprouts podcast, we have been talking about the second gift of the Holy Spirit. |
| 0:34.9 | The first is fear of the Lord, step one. The second is piety, which is step |
| 0:40.1 | two. Now, when we talk about piety, the central thing to remember is the idea of family. God is |
| 0:47.9 | truly our father, and therefore we have a great reverence for divine worship, for making time for |
| 0:53.8 | prayer and the sacraments and really |
| 0:55.6 | being with our father. The next part of piety is to guard our interior holiness, meaning being aware |
| 1:04.8 | that we are in adoration chapel and taking that seriously and protecting that. But why do we do that? Because we know that we are a |
| 1:13.8 | beloved daughter or son of the Most High God and that this is our family, that just as we might be |
| 1:20.9 | proud of our last name or our family history, we are proud of the legacy of God and the fact that he dwells inside of us. |
| 1:29.1 | Yesterday we talked about how understanding that we are a child of God extends to every |
| 1:34.2 | person we meet. And the next part of piety, this great gift from the Holy Spirit, is having |
| 1:40.8 | compassion for others, for everyone else, and for treating them like family, |
| 1:46.4 | lovingly helping them, but also calling them to resist temptation. |
| 1:52.9 | Now finally today, we are going to take a minute to see the great gift of the Holy Spirit, |
| 1:58.4 | piety in action. And to do that, we are going to look at one of my favorite |
| 2:03.3 | saints, and that is St. Therese. Now, St. Teres celebrated her feast day earlier this month. It was |
| 2:10.5 | October 1st. And here is a little bit about St. Cherez. Now, St. Choraz belonged to a family of saints. You might know that both her mother |
| 2:22.4 | and her father were canonized as saints just a couple of years ago. Her father's name was Lewis |
| 2:30.4 | and her mother's name was Zelle. Together, they were married and they are saints. |
