Hey there, Sprouds. Today is Tuesday, September 10th, 2019. This week on the Catholic Sprauds podcast, we are talking about holiness for girls. We've already talked about holiness for boys last week. And this week we are talking to girls. Now, this is important to listen to whether you're a girl or a boy,

because we all live together and we can all help each other strive for holiness.

Yesterday, we talked about the fact that boys and girls are equal, but they are not the same.

We were both created differently, and therefore our walk

to holiness will be different. Today we're going to start talking about something called

the feminine genius. Now, this is based on something written by the saint, Pope John Paul the Great. And he talked about how

women are unique and we have something called the feminine genius. And this means that there is

something in us, something special, something different than men. That is so important. We need to realize this to be holy,

but the world needs these characteristics from us in order for the world to thrive. So as

girls, you should never act like a boy. You should never pretend that you're a boy.

Because what God gave you as a girl is so important. It's needed in your family,

your classroom, your job future in life, and the world at large.

So the first part of this genius that you have is called receptivity. It means that you were made to receive. Now, that might sound a little bit strange, but Mary, our blessed mother, serves as a great example on all of these

points. So we see that we were made to receive by what Mary did. Mary at the annunciation was told

that she would be the mother of God. And when she said yes, the Holy Spirit overcame her and she became pregnant with

Jesus, who is truly God. She received him. She opened herself up and received God, literally

inside of her. She carried him for nine months.

Then he was born and she received him into her home.

She loved him.

Now, this is a model for what we do.
