Hey there, Spouts, today is Tuesday, January 21st, 2025. Today is also the feast day of St. Agnes. St. Agnes died in the year 305, kind of towards the end of the era of Christian persecution.

St. Agnes was a young girl. She belonged to a rich and elite Roman family. However, she came in

contact with Christians, realized that it was the true faith, and consecrated herself

to Jesus Christ. When she was 13, as was the custom at the time, many men came to her house

and asked for her hand in marriage, and she said no to them all because she had given herself

body and soul to Jesus Christ.

Of course, because of this, they were angry.

They turned her over to the authorities that tried to get her to renounce her faith.

She refused.

They did a number of very terrible things to her.

And yet God protected her.

In the end, she died a martyr for the faith, and she is remembered today, oftentimes,

holding a beautiful white lamb.

This lamb reminds us of purity and the very pure soul that we want to have when we enter heaven as well.
