Today we are kicking off a brand new series: THE ABC's OF THE CATHOLIC FAITH! Join us as we work our way through the entire alphabet, and learn more about our wonderful Faith. Today we are kicking things off with A which is for Apostolic Succession!

+ MONDAY: Apostolic Succession is the historical continuity between the present Church and the Apostles.

+ TUESDAY: The Bishops have received the authority God gave the Apostles at Pentecost.

+ WEDNESDAY: In the New Testament we see Matthias, Timothy and Titus made bishops and receive this authority.

+ THURSDAY: Early Church Fathers spoke about bishops and apostolic succession.

+FRIDAY: The miter, crosier, and episcopal ring worn by the bishop help us understand his duty and authority.

0:28.0	Today is also the feast day of St. Dominic Guzman.
0:31.6	St. Dominic is the founder of the Dominican order.
0:35.9	He lived between 1170 and 1221, kind of between Spain and France,
0:42.7	down in that region. So when St. Dominic's mother was expecting him, she had this dream, and it was a dog
0:51.4	who had a torch in its mouth.
0:54.9	And this dog began to run all around.
0:57.8	In fact, he ran around the whole world.
1:00.5	And as he ran, the torch in his mouth lit the world that he passed by.
1:07.3	In the end, the whole world was on fire.
1:10.9	She asked a holy priest about this dream and he told her that the son that she was about
1:16.7	to give birth to would be a great missionary, that he would travel the world and that he would
1:22.0	inflame the world's hearts with love for God.
1:27.6	That is indeed what St. Dominic did.
1:30.3	The Dominicans, the order he founded, has become known as the order of preachers.
1:35.7	They went everywhere, poor, begging for their food, praying, and preaching.
1:42.0	St. Dominic is also credited with receiving the rosary from Mary. One day he was in a
1:47.8	forest praying and praying for a weapon to combat heresy. Heresy was fretting through France
