This week on the Catholic Sprouts podcast,

we are going through the ABCs,

just getting this started.

This week we were talking about A for apostolic succession.

We're going to pick this up by looking at biblical examples of when bishops were made and

this authority was passed on. But before we get to that, please join me in our August prayer,

the Memerare. In the name of the Father and the Son

and the Holy Spirit, amen. Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known,

that anyone who fled to thy protection implored thy help help, or sought thy intercession, was left on aided.

So this week we are talking about apostolic succession.

And just to remind ourselves, apostolic succession is a historical continuity between the present church and the apostles. So the authority that God granted the apostles at Pentecost,

it didn't die with them. It has been passed down person to person through the ages, and the bishops that serve our church
