Today is Thursday, August 1st, 2024.

Today is also the feast day of Alphonse's Lagori, who lived mostly in the 1700s.

He was a member of the royal family and very devout in his faith. When he was 16 years old,

he was actually already a brilliant lawyer, very gifted. Unfortunately, when he was still young,

there was a terrible misunderstanding that ended his career. Shortly after this,

he had a vision where he felt called to the priesthood. He eventually became a priest, and although

his life as a religious took lots of twists and turns, he is remembered today as one of the

founders of the redemptress order. This week on the

Catholic Sprout's podcast, we are concluding our discussion of the corigma by discussing the

seventh truth. We as Christians must go forth and proclaim the good news of God's saving love. Before we return to that,

Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen. Remember, almost gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to

thy protection implored thy help or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence

O mother of the word incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy, hear and answer me, amen.

So we're talking about the seventh truth of the charygma, which orders all Christians to go

forth and proclaim the good news of God's saving love.

We've talked about the martyrs who went out and how we are still in that age of going out and being missionaries.
