Hey there, Spouts. Today is Monday, January 29th, 2020. This week on the Catholic Sprouts podcast, we are going to be revisiting prayer. Now, I know we have talked about prayer

in all sorts of different ways on this podcast

throughout the years. Maybe you listened in then, but if not, even this is true for me,

it's important to revisit prayer. And we're going to go back to those fundamental questions

this week about why we pray, what prayer does, why it's necessary, how it works. All of those

big questions, and my hope is that this will set you up to make some very powerful prayer

Lenton resolutions. Before we dive into that, however, we're going to practice prayer. We're going to

continue to say the prayer for students that we're saying this month in the Be a Saint

Kids Club. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen.

Lord, our God, in your wisdom and love, you surround us with the mysteries

of the universe. Send your spirit upon us and fill us with your wisdom and blessings.

Grant that we may devote ourselves to our studies. Through them, draw us ever closer to you, the source of all knowledge.

We ask this through Christ, our Lord, amen. So let's get right into it. Why do we pray?

Now, sometimes we might have a thought. We might think, well, do my prayers really change anything?

Do they really change anything? Because we know certain things about God, right?

We know that God already knows everything. So the things that we come and tell him about our day, about the way we're feeling,

he already knows those things. We also know that his plan is perfect, that before you were born,

he had this perfect plan for your life. So can we make it any better? No, it already is perfect. So we might think, well, then prayer is
