| 0:00.0 | You're listening to Catholic Sprouts, the daily podcast for Catholic kids that strives to plant seeds of faith. |
| 0:14.4 | Hey there, Sprouts. Today is Monday, February 18th, 2019. This week on the Catholic Spouts |
| 0:25.8 | podcast, we are going to be talking about repentance. We are talking about repentance because |
| 0:32.7 | Lent will be here soon. Lent is a time that we repair all of the damage that has been done to our soul |
| 0:42.6 | and to our relationship with Jesus Christ. The most important step that we can make in this |
| 0:50.8 | journey to repair our souls is to repent for the sins that we have committed. |
| 0:57.7 | Now, repentance is a big topic. It is a big challenge for a lot of people, young and old, |
| 1:04.2 | and we are going to break it down into little pieces. So first of all, let's talk about why we sin. Now, I hope you understand that repentance |
| 1:14.8 | has to do with sin. Repenting is what we do when we know we have sin and we go to God and |

| 1:39.3 | We have the ability to choose what we are going to do each and every moment of our life. |
| 1:48.1 | Some of those choices don't matter too much, like which cereal you're eating for breakfast, |
| 1:53.5 | but a lot of the choices we make do matter quite a bit. |
| 1:57.1 | Are we going to stand up for our faith? |
| 1:59.7 | Are we going to dress appropriately? Are we going to obey our parents when they tell us to do something or not? |
| 2:08.6 | These are all choices that we make. And because God made us as sons and daughters and not as slaves who simply have to obey. We have a choice. |
| 2:21.7 | Oftentimes we choose the right thing. Sometimes we choose the wrong thing. Now in each and every |
| 2:30.0 | moment, there are many reasons why we might choose to sin. And sin can be a variety of things. |
| 2:36.8 | Sometimes sin is something that we do. For example, we might hit someone or call someone a name. |
| 2:44.2 | That is something that we do. Also, sin can be something that we don't do. At lunch, maybe at school, you don't stand up for the |
| 2:54.3 | kid that is getting picked on. Or someone is making fun of your faith in Jesus Christ and you |
