So we've already talked about the fact that God is truth, that we need to live in the truth of Jesus Christ and live as Christians,

since we have been baptized into God's own family.

Now, today we're going to dig a little bit deeper into the various ways that we can

commit the sin of telling a lie, and hopefully this can really stick with you as you prepare for your next

confession because there's a lot of different ways that we can fall into falsehood. So first of all,

just to be clear, when we tell a lie, we can say things that are true or false. And sometimes

we say things that are false without realizing it.

We can make a mistake.

And I want you to know that whenever, whatever kind of sin we're talking about, a sin is something that we deliberately choose to do and we know that it is wrong while we are doing it.

So when we tell a lie for it to be a lie,

we need to know that we are deceiving someone in front of us

and that it is wrong, and yet we choose to do it anyway.
