Summary

Join us as we discuss the 6th Commandment, You shall not commit adultery, and explore marriage and chastity.

+ Monday: Marriage is a sacrament and a sign to the world that reveals the very nature of God.

+ Tuesday: Through Marriage, a husband and a wife become co-creators with God. Their love produces another person.

+ Wednesday: What is chastity and how do we strive for chastity through self-mastery?

+ Thursday: It can be tempting to use people, but through the gift-of-self, we are able to respond with love to all people.

+ Friday: Our primary vocation is to love. What we do with our bodies matters. What we do inside of our minds matters as well.

Hey there, Spouse.

0:23.7

Today is Thursday, October 12, 2012, 2023.

0:27.6

Today is also the feast day of a group of saints that lived in North Africa and died

0:33.7

for the faith in the late four hundreds.

So the story of these martyrs is a little bit complicated,

0:40.6

but it's an important part of church history. So here we go. Back in the late 300s, a heresy or

that defended this teaching, that Jesus is indeed

1:47.0

God, defended the Nicene Creed. They were victorious at several councils, and yet this heresy

1:54.3

just kept popping up and popping up. Well, in the 400s, there was a group of traveling barbarians, I don't know, the traveling army.

2:06.7

They conquered Northern Africa. They were called the Vandals. And they, unfortunately, had absorbed this heresy long after it had been defeated in other parts of the world. So they brought the

2:20.2

Aryan heresy back to North Africa. For a couple of years, they ruled without persecuting those

2:26.8

who were loyal to the Nicene Creed, who believed what we believe. But then in the late 400s,
