Hey there, sprouts. Today is Monday, June 5th, 2023. Today is also the feast day of St. Boniface.

Now, St. Boniface lived in the late 600th. He was English, but we remember him today as the apostle to Germany. He actually left England, went and evangelized the Germanic people living in what is now Germany, and what he is

most famous for, is cutting down the sacred oak tree.

Now, before he arrived, many of the people in Germany had not met Christ.

They practiced pagan religions, which included the worship of nature, including trees.

And St. Boniface cut down a very holy tree, although, of course, this was a false religion.

He was very brave in doing this, and he led thousands upon thousands of people to Jesus, baptized them, and in the end, he died a martyr for the faith.

So we are also in June all of the sudden. It's summer. We are in a new month of the Be a St. Kids Club. St. Kittiri is our patron this month, and she is challenging us to really pray

for the Holy Spirit to come raining down upon us through the prayer. Come Holy Spirit spirit so if you will please join me in praying

in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy spirit amen come holy spirit fill the hearts

of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.

Send forth your spirit and they shall be created,

and you shall renew the face of the earth.

O God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit did instruct the hearts of the faithful,

grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy

his consolations through Christ, our Lord. Amen. So this week on the podcast, we are going to be

talking about resting and keeping the Sabbath holy. The reason why we are talking about this this week is

because of St. Kateri, our patron this month. Now, St. Kateri was Native American. She lived

before the United States was officially the United States, although there were many explorers here
