You're listening to Catholic Sprouts, the daily podcast for Catholic kids that strives to plant seeds of faith.

0:34.1

Hey there, Sprouts. Today is Wednesday, October 12th, 2020. Today is also the feast day of blessed Carlo Akutis. So hopefully that name sounds familiar.

0:43.3

Carla, of course, died at 15. He was an Italian teenager who loved computers, video games, but above all else, the Eucharist.

0:49.1

He also was very devoted to our blessed Mother Mary and the Rosary.

1:00.2

Now, this month, we are under the patronage of St. Cherez ofusuf, who is challenging us to pray and learn the Hail Holy Queen prayer. So if you will join me.

1:15.1

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen. Hail Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy. Our life, our sweetness, and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve.

1:20.1

To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this veil of tears.

1:41.2

promises of christ. Amen.

2:12.5

rosary. Maybe I never thought about it before, but did you hear that at the beginning?

2:17.7

Rose.

2:18.9

Now, that's not a mistake.

2:20.4

The reason why rosary and the word rose are so similar is because at the very beginning when this prayer was being developed,

2:30.8

the monks that promoted it spoke about how praying the rosary was like offering roses to Mary,

2:39.7

roses that would become a crown placed around her head.

2:44.4

Now before you begin to wonder, why do we honor Mary so much?

2:48.8

There's a lot we could talk about here, and we have talked about it

2:51.6

passed on the podcast, but I just want you to believe this one fact. Jesus loved his mother.
