Hey, Sprouts. Today is Monday, October 10th, 2020. Now this month, we are under the patronage of St. Cherez of Lusu, who is offering us a variety of challenges, including that we memorize the Hail Holy Queen Prayer. So if you will join me, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen. Hail Holy Queen, Mother

0:48.3

of Mercy. Our life, our sweetness, and our hope. To thee, do we cry, poor banished children of Eve.

0:55.9

To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning, and weeping in this veil of tears.

1:01.4

Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy, towards us, and after this our exile,

1:07.8

show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement o loving,

1:12.9

O sweet Virgin Mary, pray for us, O holy mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the

1:18.9

promises of Christ. Amen. So this week on the Catholic Spraud's podcast, we are going to tackle the

1:25.0

second thing that St. Cherez challenges us to do, and that is to pray the rosary.

1:30.3

So depending on your age and ability, we challenge you to pray for rosaries this month.

1:37.5

And that might be adjusted if you're young.

1:39.9

But I want you to try to pray them all on your own and to really try to invest in this prayer that was a beloved prayer by so many saints, including St. Cherez.

1:52.3

In fact, St. Choraz wrote, and I think this is such a beautiful image, she wrote that the rosary is a long chain that links heaven and earth. One end of it is in our

2:04.2

hands and the other end is in the hands of the Holy Virgin. I oftentimes think about that when I'm

2:11.0

praying the rosary, that when I hold on to that and I'm praying that Mary is there actually

2:17.3

on the other end of that chain.

2:20.2

So before we dive into the rosary, we're going to talk about this prayer that we are memorizing this month, the Hail Holy Queen.

2:28.1

Now this prayer is the concluding prayer, or one of the concluding prayers of the rosary.

2:33.8

And it's interesting to learn about

2:36.5

the history of this prayer and to talk a little bit about what this prayer means. So the Hail

2:42.8

Holy Queen is a very old prayer. From what we can tell, it was written in the 11th century,

2:49.4

in the 11th century, which was about a thousand years ago. And it was written in the 11th century, in the 11th century, which was about a thousand years ago.
