where every Saturday we discuss the art of dragon slain.

Well, last week, I told you that I'm about to begin a very exciting training guild on the seven deadly dragons.

But before we get to those deadly dragons, there are some preliminary training techniques and

guidelines that I must equip you with before battle.

Today, I shall give you seven dragon slaying maxims.

A maxim is defined as a short pithy statement

expressing a general truth or rule of conduct. So I'm about to give you seven short statements

expressing the truth about dragons and how to slay them. And as a bonus, they all rhyme.

Dragon slaying maxim number one. Try your best and let God's grace do the rest.

We've talked about this most important Dragon Slane Maxim many times before, so it does not need much explanation.

This maxim sums up the Catholic faith in the roadmap for the journey of life and how to become a saint.

There are two parts to the sentence, and both are equally important.

The first part says you must try your best.

It doesn't matter what you have to give, but you have to give it. You do have to show up for the

training. You have to give your best effort. You have to cooperate with God's grace. You have to

model your life after Jesus and Mary who gave everything they had to God. But the second part of the

sentence is equally important. You must trust in God's grace.

Do not. I repeat, do not try to slay dragons on your own. The only weapon that can defeat them
