| 0:00.0 | You're listening to Catholic Sprouts, the daily podcast for Catholic kids that strives to plant seeds of faith. |
| 0:27.8 | Hey there, Sprouts. Today is Thursday, October 6th, 2022. |
| 0:37.4 | This month, Sprouts, we are under the patronage of St. Terese, and she has challenged us to learn the Hail Holy Queen Prayer. So let's pray together. In the name of the |
| 0:40.4 | Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen. Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of mercy, our life, |
| 0:48.2 | our sweetness, and our hope. To thee, do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To thee, do we send up our sighs, mourning, and weeping in this veil of tears. Turn then most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy, towards us, and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. |
| 1:17.1 | O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary, pray for us, O holy mother of God, |
| 1:21.0 | that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. |
| 1:22.1 | Amen. |
| 1:27.0 | So sprouts this week we are talking about St. Cherez and her Little Way, |
| 1:32.6 | and how the Little Way is a rediscovery of the heart of the gospel, which is love. |
| 1:46.2 | So there are two key parts to going to heaven the way St. Choraz did. And those two pieces are humility, being humble, and confidence. |
| 1:50.0 | So let's talk about the first one, being humble. |
| 1:55.7 | Now, sometimes we can think that humble means that we think like we're no good, we're garbage, |
| 1:58.1 | but that is not the case at all. |
| 2:04.4 | Being humble means simply that we are honest, that we see what is true and act accordingly. The best example of this comes from the gospel. As Jesus died on the cross, |
| 2:12.7 | there were two other men crucified with him, one on either side. We know one of these men now as the good |
| 2:20.2 | thief. He actually has been named a saint by the church and has been given the name |
| 2:25.4 | Saint Dismiss. So while his friend, the unrepented thief, he looks at Jesus and he taunts him and says all sorts of nasty things to him. |
| 2:37.4 | St. Dismiss, the repentant thief, he looks at Jesus. He identifies him as not only innocent, but also as the Messiah. |
| 2:50.1 | And he says, Lord, remember me when you come into your kingdom. |
| 2:56.3 | We know that Jesus responds that he will be that day with him in paradise. |
| 3:03.6 | So according to the gospel, the very first saint, the very first person offered salvation and brought into heaven with Jesus, was a criminal. |
