Today is Wednesday, September 21st, 2022.

Today is also the feast day of St. Matthew.

St. Matthew, who was a tax collector, became one of Jesus' closest followers and apostle, and eventually wrote the gospel of Matthew, which we have in our Bibles. Today is also still part of September,

and we are under the patronage of Blessed Carlo Acudis, who is offering us all kinds of challenges

this month as part of the Be.S.A. St.

Kids Club. One of those challenges is to memorize the morning offering. So if you will pray with me,

in the name of the Father's Son, Holy Spirit, amen. O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary,

I offer you my prayers, joys, works, and sufferings of

this day, for all the intentions of your sacred heart in union with the holy sacrifice

of the Mass throughout the world, for the salvation of souls, the reparation of sins,

the reunion of all Christians, and in particular for the salvation of souls, the reparation of sins, the reunion of all Christians,

and in particular for the intentions of the Holy Father this month. Amen.

So this week we are talking about distraction, something that all of us struggle with,

and something that we need to fight against particularly living

in the world that we do that is so filled with distraction. We heard a story of a vision that

St. Bernard Clairvaux had over a thousand years ago when an angel was recording the words

that were being prayed, either in golden ink because they were

prayed with the whole heart engaged, or with water, because people praying them were

distracted. Now, today we're going to tackle a very important fact. When we give into distraction, when the thought pops into our brain and we
