Today is the 10th day and the 9th month in the year of our Lord 2022.

My name is Sir Roland Paterlot, and you're listening to Saturdays with Sir Roland on Catholic Sprouts,

where every Saturday we discuss the art of dragon-sign. Today, we have a very

serious dragon to discuss by the name of usurpin. If you have the Dragon Slayers Manual by

Survivor and Pugilist, you will see that the symptoms of exposure to stents he uses to describe this

dragon are stealing, cheating, and dishonesty. And stealing is precisely what the Seventh Commandment says we shall not do.

This dragon is a direct descendant of that ancient slithery serpent in the Garden of Eden who is a thief and a liar.

Satan successfully convinced Adam and Eve to steal the forbidden fruit.

We too are often tempted to fall for this temptation to reach out

and grasp for the things we think are going to make us happy, because we just don't trust God

to give us what we truly need. Stealing comes from that selfish motive to take things that don't

belong to us. This dragon tries to lure us away from God when we're very young, just like the

serpent in the garden.

This reminds me of a great quote I once heard.

Dragon slayers aren't born, they are forged.

When we are very small, we have absolutely no qualms about taking other people's stuff, so we must be trained in virtue.

For example, a couple weeks ago, we were at our parish festival.

In the social hall, they were selling chicken dinners.

We went through the line, purchased our chicken dinners, and made our way to the end of the table.

And as you go through the line, they have a delectable selection of desserts, cakes, and pies,
