Hey there, sprouts. Today is September 8th, 2022. Today is also the Feast of the Nativity of Mary,

also known as Mary's birthday. So today we celebrate Mary's birthday. So let's make sure to give her a little gift today. And you know what she would love more than anything. Mary's greatest desire is that you come to know and love her son, Jesus Christ. So making good on that challenge I've been offering you all week to go and adore Jesus present in the

Eucharist would be a great present for Mary. Today we're going to keep talking about the Eucharist

because the Eucharist was so important to our guide this month, Blessed Carlo Acudis,

and it really is the path to heaven.

But before we get there, let's pray the morning offering which we are memorizing this month.

In the name of the Father, Son, Holy Spirit, amen.

Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer you my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings this day for all the intentions of your sacred heart and union with the holy sacrifice of the Mass

throughout the world, for the salvation of souls, the reparation of sins, the reunion

of all Christians, and in particular the intentions of the Holy Father, the reparation of sins, the reunion of all Christians, and in particular the intentions

of the Holy Father this month. Amen. So, so far this week we've talked about the Passover,

feeding of the 5,000, and what Jesus says about truly eating his flesh, drinking his blood. We talked about the last supper

yesterday, and today we are going to talk about the events of Good Friday at Calvary, also known as

Jesus' passion and death. So what do these things have to do with the Eucharist? Well, simply, they have everything to do with the Eucharist.

And again, there is so much deep meaning that we can talk about here more than we can fit into five minutes.

But I'm just going to throw out a couple of things for you.

Number one,

in order to understand what happened on the cross, we actually need to go way back into the

Old Testament. Now, after sin entered the world and God was trying to bring the Israelite

nation back into relationship with him, he gave them a system
