And here on the hump day edition of the yard, we got a lot to talk about. We do. The first thing that I want to say, right out of the gate,

regardless of circumstances, it is unacceptable for us to lose a midweek game to the likes of Austin P.

I understand they've got 11 power five transfers. I understand they've got a veteran team.

I get every bit of that. The fact that we score two runs against Austin P is absolutely

unacceptable. It is. Let's just go ahead and get that established right out of the gate. We could talk about

injuries, and at some point we will. We could talk about having some young pitchers, but they

actually performed exceptionally well. But it's unacceptable. It is unacceptable for us to lose

games like that? It is.

I think we'd all agree in that.

Now, we may disagree on what needs to happen today, what needs to happen next,

but the bottom of mind is Mississippi State needs to win some baseball games, period.

Can't lose games like that. Can't.

I mean, the margin for error for us is so thin, you can't drop games like that. Can't. I mean, the margin for error for us is so thin.

You can't drop games like that.

And that's a mid-level team in the Atlantic Sun.

It's not a mid-level team in the Southeastern Conference.

It's embarrassing, it is, and I know we put such of an emotional investment in this, you know,

but we didn't perform last night,

especially on the offensive side. Defensive played really well. We pitched it exceptionally well.

I don't know if you guys know this. I just wrote this earlier in a Brooks Ogre piece.

Through four games, we struck out 51 and walked nine. Let that sink in for a second.
