here on the magnificent Monday edition of the yard. Hope you're doing well. Man, it's been a great weekend.

It really has been. Well, on the sports, it's been a good weekend in sports. Could have been a really good weekend.

Could have been a great weekend. We came up just short of making

it a great weekend. That said, it was a good weekend on a baseball diamond, a good weekend on the

men's side of the basketball court. Women come up just short. But before we get too deep in weeds,

let's congratulate Mississippi State softball. Coach Samantha Ricketts and the ladies there.

What a great, great start to the season. And Lady Bulldogs now ranked 18th in the country.

How about that? You know, we had such a difficult year last year. And a lot of people, you know,

I'm not real bullish about this team

but all of a sudden you look up ladies are out there getting it done against some of the

nation's elite pretty impressive so congratulations we'll take a you know just a minute here

and talk about this but um i did not want to, you know, forget this.

But 8 and 1 now, and we start the season 8 and 0, and then we lose the ball game over the weekend.

But as you guys know, we got off to good start, you know, taking down UAB and I-U-P-U-I, yeah yeah swept all four of those games and then we uh we destroy

Louisiana 9-1 and then 2-1 and we go to the porta bartha college challenge a lot of bad

weather out there pushed everything back and so we weren't able to get all the games in.

However, we take down Clemson, number eight, Clemson, 6 to 3, and then we absolutely embarrass the Utah huge, 10 to 2 in six innings,

and we finally lose our first game of the year yesterday, two to one to UC Davis.

So great start to the season.

I know that Coach Ricketts told us when our media day that this team had a bit of an edge to them

and that also too that she was part of the deal that turned this thing around you know she's
