| 0:26.2 | help celebrate this happy birthday with a cake and everything. I had established myself in a writing career. I had worked for Stephen Spielberg on amazing stories. I'd started writing movies like |
| 0:38.5 | hocus pocus on the fly too and I was starting to get people to make directing offers and it was very intimidating. |
| 0:47.0 | There were some big budget movies that people asked if I was into and I thought, |
| 0:50.0 | oh God, special effects, stunts, animals, things, that's way too difficult. |

| 0:58.1 | So instead, the first greenlit movie that I got offered from the wonderful Bob Shay, a New Line Pictures, New Line Cinema, was Critters |

| 1:16.8 | that's Edward and Charles and Stephen Kyoto. |
