I recently read a story about a couple who were hiking in California and

came across a cougar, peering at them through the bushes.

One person knew what to do and they were able to safely escape from that encounter unharmed.

Now if we look at this in the big picture, the chances are you're not going to get

attacked by a cougar or a bear.

The odds are you won't.

But let me tell you, any sports fan knows this.

Do we know one thing we know about odds?

You can't count on them.

If we could count on odds, my favorite baseball team would have been playing in the World

Series this year.
