Summary

Dr. David Brady joins us to discuss some exciting developments in the way of testing for SARS CoV-2. Right now most testing for Coronavirus is occurring by way of major hospitals, Diagnostic Solutions Laboratory is changing that by offering serum testing to smaller institutions like general practitioners and alternative healthcare providers. In addition, at home stool testing kits will be made available for consumers. The more we know about who has the virus, who has had it, and who has developed immunity to it, the more quickly we can get people back to work and learn more about how this virus behaves in various individuals. We also discuss some natural agents, like vitamin C, melatonin, and quercetin, that may help to reduce the severity and duration of symptoms in some patients. https://drruscio.com/?p=56951

any disease. Please do not apply any of this information without first speaking with your

Today we speak with Dr. David Brady on what was supposed to be emerging testing in GI, but instead spent the entire roughly 50 minutes discussing SARS-COVID and some exciting developments with the lab. He works with

0:59.4

DSL or diagnostic solutions laboratory and how they are working on testing both to identify

1:08.0

cases and for antibody testing. And we discuss how and when integrative providers

1:14.1

kind of step in here and try to assist in this effort, whereas right now things are mostly

1:18.2

being done through major hospital systems, obviously. So that was insightful and very interesting.

1:23.4

In addition to that, Dr. Brady really has been looking deep into the mechanisms through which

1:30.9

SARS-COVID infects and makes people ill, namely through the acute respiratory distress syndrome

1:39.4

that it calls, or cause, excuse me, and the cytokine storm or the kind of inflammatory cascade that

1:48.3

underlies that may be initiated by this inflammation N-L-PR-3, and there's actually some natural

1:56.3

agents that have been shown to suppress this inflammation, including melatonin, which was completely new to me.

2:04.3

Also, vitamin C and quercetin have been shown to be able to inhibit this specific inflammation.

2:11.4

Now, we don't have the luxury here of having the data that I always harp on having, which would be a clinical trial.

2:17.4

There has not been

2:18.5

nearly enough time, although there is some research being done on these kind of actively,

2:24.3

and these anecdotes are being used to make the best inference that we can. So this would be an example

2:30.3

of being evidence-based, but not evidence-limited, of course. So this episode is all about
