He was a professor of mine. I've taken a Latin class with him and then last semester I took a class on the Gauls in the Gaulish language. It was delightful. So very confusing and I'm trying to think of smart things to say about it, but all I really remember is being so terribly

confused the whole time, but also in the most delightful of way, because I got to learn so

much and to realize what gaps I had in my education, what gaps there was in traditional

academia for these kinds of topics and how little we talk about it.

The approach to Celtic and Golic Studies, especially in antiquity, is extremely different

than what it is for classical research.

And it's just, I don't know, it was just very fascinating to me and I was really excited
