Hey, everybody. Welcome back to the Primal Potential Podcast. I am Elizabeth Benton.

0:06.4

This is our Consistency 365 series. Today I want to share with you a mantra that I have

0:12.9

been using to help me with consistency. One of the keys to consistent behavioral patterns

0:19.0

for me is being calm. Because if I get flustered when my time is short, I'm less likely to be

0:26.1

consistent. If I get flustered when I'm emotional or I forgot to prepare something for dinner or

0:34.2

what we plan to have, we can't have, I'm less likely to be consistent. So one of the keys

0:38.5

to consistency for me is keeping calm mind. The mantra that I have been practicing is in this

0:47.9

moment, let me limit or expand my perspective to whatever will keep me calmest for the task at

0:56.9

hand. So sometimes that means limiting my perspective and I don't have to think about what I'm

1:02.6

going to do tomorrow or how I'm going to handle XYZ later. Sometimes I need to limit my

1:07.2

perspective to what is going on right now and that is what keeps me calmest. Other times I

1:13.1

need to expand my perspective to keep me calmest. In the scheme of things, this really doesn't matter.

1:19.0

In the scheme of things, I'm grateful for this moment. In the scheme of things, in the big picture

1:23.7

of life, this is actually kind of funny and not worth stressing about or reacting to in any

1:29.8

negative way. So I challenge myself and if calm isn't the pursuit that you have, maybe it is

1:39.3

rational, maybe it is logical, maybe it is confident, maybe it's motivated, maybe it's focused.

1:44.5

But how do I need to limit my perspective in a way that keeps me focused or in a way that keeps

1:51.1

me calm or in a way that keeps me motivated, whatever it is, but also how do I need to expand my

1:58.6

perspective to whatever will keep me calmest or whatever will keep me more focused or whatever will

2:05.0

keep me most motivated, most ready for the task at hand. Sometimes we need to shrink our vision,

2:12.2

sometimes we need to expand it, but I'm carrying that with me as I go through different moments in the

2:17.8

day so that I can choose the perspective that sets me up for my best performance, for my best
