Hello, everybody. Welcome back to the Primal Potential podcast. I am Elizabeth Benton. Hope

0:07.0

you're having a great day today. We are going to get right into another episode in our consistency

0:14.4

365 series. I was talking to a client the other day and she was expressing a challenge to

0:21.6

me, a struggle. And she said, I just don't know why I struggle. Sometimes I'm just not

0:28.6

in the mood to do it. I'm just not feeling it. I know what to do. But sometimes I'm just

0:33.6

not feeling it. Feeling it doesn't have to get a vote. You are giving it a vote. And for

0:42.5

as long as you do that, you're going to negotiate your way out of consistency. One of the things

0:48.6

that I used to feel and I've heard so many clients express to me, how can I be consistent

0:55.8

in these other areas of my life, but not consistent in how I take care of myself or how

1:01.5

I do this other thing? Well, my client pointed right to it when she said, sometimes I'm just

1:07.2

not feeling it. As though that's relevant. Just because you're making it relevant doesn't

1:13.2

mean it inherently is relevant or you have to. For example, are you consulting how you

1:19.6

feel about going to work every day when your alarm goes off? If you did, you probably

1:27.1

would show up maybe half the time, maybe less. If not feeling like it was relevant in your

1:34.3

decision of whether or not to go to work, you probably wouldn't have that job very often.

1:40.1

When we look at the areas where we are consistent, whether it's going to work or it's taking

1:44.9

care of your kids or it's showing up for somebody else, what you'll see is you do that

1:50.5

thing, whether you feel like it or not. I can't tell you the last time I felt like changing

1:56.2

a diaper or washing a bottle, I'm not sure I ever have. Maybe, maybe, probably not. But

2:04.8

how I feel like it, how I feel about it doesn't get a vote in those things. And if you

2:12.2

choose to give it a vote in your workout decisions or your food decisions, that is why you're

2:19.2

not consistent. I tell myself all the time and I wrote about this in Tools for the Trench
