Yo, hey everyone, it's Adrienne here. I hope you're all having a great start to the week. So today's

0:10.2

Monday motivation episode is all about gathering. It's about connection. It's about the importance of

0:16.6

meeting with people offline, face to face in real life. Now, if you think back to the pandemic,

0:23.0

during the pandemic, it feels like such a long time ago and gladly, I think we've forgotten so

0:27.5

much about it. But one of the key things, of course, was isolation. Many people reported

0:33.3

feeling lonely. And since the pandemic, there's been numerous articles and statistics that have come out

0:39.2

in the press saying that we are now experiencing an epidemic of loneliness and that more than 10%

0:44.4

of adults in the UK experience loneliness. Now that doesn't necessarily mean that they are

0:50.9

sequestered away from everybody that they they live alone, that they live in

0:54.2

isolation. These people are part of society. They might have jobs. They might go into work.

0:59.2

They might work remotely. But they are feeling loneliness because they don't feel as though

they have connection. They don't feel as though they have deep, meaningful relationships or

1:07.7

that they have the opportunity to create them. So I've talked many times on

1:12.8

this podcast before about, of course, the concept of time well spent and the idea that time is

1:18.9

one of the most valuable things that you can give to another person. So I guess in today's message,

1:24.5

I wanted to get you thinking about would it be possible to give an hour

1:29.2

this week to somebody else? Someone in your life, maybe somebody, a colleague at work,

1:35.0

maybe someone who has reached out in the past, who you've just not been able to connect with

1:38.5

them. And how great do you think it would be for that person to receive a message from you

1:43.0

or an email from you or a

1:44.7

LinkedIn message from you saying, hey, let's connect, let's meet up for a coffee or let's meet up for a run.

1:50.7

One of the questions that I provide in the Power Hour book is, who would love to hear from me today?
