| 0:00.0 | What up ladies, alright Lisa Billieu here and today we're going to talk about confidence |
| 0:04.8 | because so many of us end up struggling with it. We struggle with how do we feel, with self-doubt, with pretending that we're fine but really we're not. And honestly, I get it. I live so much of my life there and so today I am answering your questions on how to build your confidence when you don't feel good enough or when you don't feel worthy. And so today I'm going to read out some questions and let's get into it. |
| 0:27.4 | I like question number one is what? confidence when you don't feel good enough or when you don't feel worthy. And so today I'm going to read out some questions and let's get into it. |
| 0:26.8 | All right, question number one is what this is from Kim Mann 1234. What do you do when you don't feel good enough? How do you shift out of the mindset and rebuild your confidence? All right, so we're going to get very tactical here because that's where I live on a daily basis. I can get into my feels, I can get into my emotions and I absolutely can end up wasting my |
| 0:48.8 | life watching TV and telling myself I just don't feel good enough with a bowl of ice cream and for I'm not going to lie for probably a few days that's going to feel fantastic and then over time I'm just going to beat myself up that I don't feel good enough and that I'm not doing anything about it. And so this is where you need to kick |
| 1:05.2 | into gear. The question is, do you actually want to do the work? Because it's not going |
| 1:08.6 | to be easy. And so you have to be willing, first and foremost, to do the work that it's going to take. Alright, let's assume that you're saying, yes, I am going to do the work. When you don't feel good enough, you have to ask yourself, what, what don't you feel good enough at because confidence isn't a random I want to feel good. Confidence is being |
| 1:27.4 | very specific about what you want to build confidence in. Because just like you may say, I want to feel good, feel good at what? Feel good how? What does that actually mean? So we're going to get really freaking granular for a second. When you don't say, I don't feel good enough, I need you to write down and identify |
| 1:45.6 | exactly what that is. I don't feel good enough to step in front of the camera and make a YouTube video. That's actually a really security that I had. I don't feel good enough to start a business. I don't feel good enough to set a boundary. I don't feel good enough, right? Fill in the blank. Once you know what you don't feel good enough in. Now the second step is ask yourself is it actually true? |
| 2:08.7 | Because the answer actually may be, yes, you're not good enough yet. Now that is empowering. That's the best bloody news ever because now you know you can get good. So when we do this practice, it isn't about, it isn't about stroking your ego. It's about if you want to feel |
| 2:25.1 | good enough, you have to put in the work to feel good enough to do it. So as an example, me stepping in front of the camera, I was petrified. I didn't feel good enough to do it. I had all the reasons in the world why I shouldn't. I was mocked. I was bullied for how I looked. I, people laugh at my house squeaky I get there's a million reasons why I could convince myself never to try. |
| 2:44.8 | The question was, did I want to get good enough to step in front of the camera and do YouTube videos? The answer was yes. Okay, now you've identified, I want to get good at this specific thing. Remember, confidence is the byproduct of taking action. So if you want confidence, you actually have to take action on the thing you don't feel good enough on. |
| 3:05.1 | So let's just stick with the idea of the getting in front of the camera. I'm not good, that is the truth. I haven't gotten in front of the camera enough to be good at it yet. But now I know what I'm trying to do. And now we go into the next stage which is what I call mind the gap. Now, when mind that that means if you want to be good enough to get in front of the camera, |
| 3:26.1 | you have to say what does good enough look like. |
| 3:28.7 | Good enough looks like that I can switch on the camera and I don't feel anxiety and I sound fun, I sound entertaining right actually right a list of what good enough looks like. Not, I want to feel good at this, it has to be very concrete that you can check black and white. Did I hit this yes or no? |
| 3:46.1 | Once you make that list, you then go where am I now? |
| 3:49.8 | That's where you want to be, then you write a list of where you are now. |
| 3:53.2 | Right now, I am so let's just make this up. |
| 3:55.8 | I can't even have the confidence to take a photo of me and post it on my Instagram stories. |
| 4:01.4 | Alright, now you know what you want to get good enough in, now you know where you are and now you know what that gap looks like. And the final piece of this whole puzzle is then to assess what you have to do between where you are now and who the person you have to become. So again, going back to my not good enough debate in front of the camera, I knew I needed to just put in the hours that I had to get so damn good that I could be comfortable. All right, what does that look like? They say around 10,000 hours is what makes you feel like an expert. So I'm like, all right, how do I put in the hours? I'm going to put in five hours this week. I'm going to put five hours next week. And that's my game plan of how to get more comfortable. Now the other thing, just a little insight, |
| 4:45.2 | is I had no idea how to enter an interview. |
| 4:47.8 | I was so petrified, I was like, I have no idea what I'm doing. |
